Diabetes Foundation Course Provided by DIME Square Ltd
Key Messages from the 3-day course, this information-packed day suits GP’s not directly involved in diabetes care delivery and acts as a great update for experienced clinicians!
Wednesday 2 nd September 09:00 – 16:00
This course is a condensed version of the 3 Day PrePITstop: Diabetes Foundation Course delivering the key messages in a one-day programme. The content focuses on elements of essential diabetes services, that every general practice should be providing to a high standard. This condensed programme was designed in 2016, following requests from GPs who were not actively involved in delivering diabetes services, but had lost confidence in talking to patients about their diabetes.
They wanted to support both patients and non-prescribing colleagues by updating their knowledge. The course is also a great CPD opportunity for team members who have experience and a previous diabetes qualification. This 1 Day PrePITstop course encourages participants to consider their current practice and work towards a team approach to delivering high quality, essential type 2 diabetes and ‘high risk of diabetes’ services. The course is RCGP accredited and involves 6.5 supported study hours. Note: this course has been piloted with GP trainees, offering them an overview of diabetes care in General Practice. The programme was well evaluated and participants left, feeling motivated to support people with diabetes in the clinical setting. Not to be attended if you have attended the 3 Day PITStop
