Key Message Diabetes Foundation Course Provided by DIME Square Ltd
This course is designed for registered practitioners who are fully involved or keen to become involved in the delivery of diabetes services in general practice.
Monday 13th September 2021 08:50 – 16:00, Monday 20th September 2021 08:50 – 16:00 and Wednesday 3rd November 2021 08:50 – 16:00 YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL 3 DATES.
This course is designed for registered practitioners who are fully involved, or keen to become involved in the delivery of diabetes services in general practice. The course encourages participants to consider their current practice and work towards a team approach to delivering high quality, essential type 2 diabetes and ‘high risk of diabetes’ services. The course is RCGP accredited and involves 19.5 supported study hours.
The three-day programme covers:
Day 1: Detection, diagnosis and register maintenance (morning). Lifestyle choices as the foundation of the treatment pathway (afternoon).
Day 2: Managing the oral hyperglycaemia treatment pathway and delivering patientcentered, essential diabetes care (incorporating NICE and local guidelines).
Day 3: Complications screening, prevention and management (incorporating NICE and local guidelines), including a 90-minute foot session. Embedding the learnt skills using care studies. Note: No previous formal diabetes training is required, you must be prepared to attend all three days of this course, no previous diabetes-related experience is required.
