Day 1 – 18th November 2021 • Diagnosis, classification and screening • Lifestyle messages to encourage behavioural change, including details of the Diabetes Prevention Programme and structured education programmes
Day 2 – 25th November 2021 • The diabetes oral medication pathway. We will include concordance, individual target setting, hypoglycaemia, blood glucose monitoring, DVLA requirements and de-escalation of treatment • Delivering diabetes and pre diabetes services in general practice
Day 3 – 16th December 2021 • Cardiovascular prevention: BP, lipid and kidney screening and management • Performing a foot assessment, recording and reporting risk and foot care advice • Mental health and diabetes • Eye screening: key messages • Embedding the skills learnt with case studies Criteria to apply • For GP, GP trainee, Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Community Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist and Paramedic wanting to become involved in diabetes provision • Available to attend from 8.45, programme start 9.00, finish 16.00.
