The RCGP is inviting applications for the role of Workplace Based Assessment (WPBA) Core Group Member.
WPBA is one of the three components of the MRCGP exam, providing a framework for evaluating a doctor’s progress in those areas of professional practice best tested in the workplace.
What does the role involve?
The WPBA Core Group is responsible for the ongoing strategic development, delivery and quality control of the MRCGP WPBA. Individual members within the group have some specific areas of responsibility, but also the flexibility to work across the group to cover all areas of the WPBA.
The group’s current key areas of work, and the knowledge they require, are detailed below but may change in response to the rapidly changing agendas in postgraduate medical education:
Carrying out assessment trials with trainees and producing and publishing formal research on the results.
Developing educational resources to improve the studying of WPBAs.
Communicating and updating stakeholder groups, primarily trainees and trainers, on assessment requirements and standards.
Person specification and terms of reference
Applications for the role can be made by sending a CV and covering letter (no more than one side of A4) setting out how you meet the criteria for the role and any other relevant experience, to Tom Anstey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
