The NHS Long Term Plan and GP contract commit to increasing the numbers of physiotherapists and paramedics working in general practice. Successful implementation of these roles, and associated improvements in patient care, will benefit from coordinated approaches to workforce supply, training and education.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of AHP roles, including first contact practitioners (FCPs), in general practice. The role will offer an experienced AHP the opportunity to contribute to workforce transformation, working closely with a range of local, regional and national stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an experienced AHP who is released for 2.5 days a week (0.5 WTE) from their employing organisation for up to 12 months to work across the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System (ICS), regional footprint and across the South East region.
The Employing organisation will receive funding from the Kent And Medway CCG to release the successful candidate from their usual duties.
This is a development opportunity for existing AHPs working within the Kent and Medway footprint who are experienced and passionate about workforce development, training and education and would like to help shape and drive the agenda for Primary Care locally.
The successful applicant will work closely with, and be supported by, the Kent and Medway Training Hubs as well as the Kent and Medway CCG ICS Workforce Team.
The advisers will provide multi-professional leadership to:
· Advise a range of stakeholders on high-quality care and sustainable workforce supply, training and education in primary care in relation to AHPs
· Support a coordinated approach across primary, community and secondary care within STPs/ICSs and across the South East
· Support the development of practical implementation resources.
· Support PCNs in recruiting, training and retaining AHPs.
