The Return to Practice course at Canterbury Christ Church University is aimed at adult, child and mental health nurses, as well as health visitors, who have not met the NMC’s requirements for revalidation. The programme team can help you refresh your nursing skills in a friendly, supportive environment. We will support you to update your skills in a supervised practice placement and facilitate the process in reaching the standards of proficiency required by a registered nurse.
Currently, the programme includes 6 taught study days, as well as 6 directed study days, and a practice placement which will be a minimum of 100 hours. There is an emphasis on reflection within the course, and opportunities to focus your learning on your area of practice and/or placement. A blended learning approach is used, so both virtual and face to face teaching are employed. You will need to have computer skills and internet access in order to access learning materials and virtual sessions. You would need to complete both a theoretical and practice assessments and will be supported with these submissions, and also have the support of a personal tutor.
