Suitable for registered healthcare professionals involved or wanting to become involved in delivering diabetes services
Day 1 • Diagnosis, classication and screening • Lifestyle messages to encourage behavioural change, including details of the Diabetes Prevention Programme and structured education programmes
Day 2 • The diabetes oral medication pathway. We will include concordance, individual target setting, hypoglycaemia, blood glucose monitoring, DVLA requirements and de-escalation of treatment • Delivering diabetes and pre diabetes services in general practice
Day 3 • Cardiovascular prevention: BP, lipid and kidney screening and management • Performing a foot assessment, recording and reporting risk and foot care advice • Mental health and diabetes • Eye screening: key messages • Embedding the skills learnt with case studies You will be sent a resource pack, including a workbook, to use during the course.
