Support & resilience
Medical careers are rewarding, but training and practice can involve long hours under stressful conditions and often in silos, though the latter is improving with the emergence of multi-disciplinary team ethos. East Kent Training Hub also recognises the challenges that non-clinical staff and anyone involved in the patient journey can face.
We provide inter-professional support, regardless of the role or its setting, to build and improve resilience.
We work in partnership with CCGs, STP, Royal Colleges, NHS and HEE to develop, facilitate and implement national resilience and professional support priorities.
Support available in East Kent
We offer eight-week-long courses to improve your well-being and reduce stress. The training, which is delivered by a local GP, has been attended by around 35 people to date.
Peer Mentoring & Career Support
East Kent Training Hub will soon be launching 'Critical Friend' peer mentoring services. These services will initially support GPs, before being extended for the full primary care workforce. The supportive network will be shaped by focus groups and surveys to ensure the service meets the needs of our frontline practitioners. The service will offer one-to-one mentoring and coaching as well as peer-led support groups across East Kent.
Action Learning Sets & Clinical Supervision
East Kent Training Hub holds a number of group meetings to facilitate clinical-led discussions in safe and supportive environment with explicit aims of improving patient care, safety, equity and inter-professional learning and support.
